You know that you’re flying a lot (maybe too much) when you can walk zombie-like through any airport & know exactly where you are, where baggage claim is & where every Starbucks is located. Not to mention knowing what restaurants you like in each airport and which concourses they’re located in. This October was definitely one of those months. We performed 19 shows at 17 different venues in 12 different states & 1 of Canada’s provinces. Even now, I’m typing this while I’m 30,000ft in the air flying home from a show in California.
One of the shows this past month was a benefit show in Santa Barbara for the Unity Shoppe. Here’s a link where you can read a review of the show and learn more about the Unity Shoppe: http://www.independent.com/news/2017/oct/19/unity-shoppe-celebrates-100-years-peter-noone-conc/ Many stars were at the show and at the after-show party I met Kenny Loggins who’s been involved with the Unity Shoppe for years.
Even though I was on the road for 21 days I did find time to record for a very special project. Producer Eddie Tomecko is producing a Christmas CD to benefit children with cancer. He asked me, George Sipl (Eric Carmen, American Noise), Tommy Rich (American Noise) Bill March (Beau Coup) & Wes Coolbaugh (Love Affair) to record a Christmas song for the CD. I had a blast!! For the last 20yrs, whenever I’ve recorded I was usually wearing many hats; producing, writing, singing, arranging & playing multiple instruments. So, it was extremely refreshing and inspiring to just be the singer again for a change…I sat with George as we worked up the arrangement and both George & Eddie guided me through the tracking of my lead vocal and background vocals.
The tour schedule lightens a bit in November so I will be performing a few local dates around town. On November 22, the night before Thanksgiving, Spina, Sullivan & Hudak will be reuniting for a show at Bar 107. The musical mayhem will begin at 8:00p…don’t miss it!
I must sign off now because I see that this plane is getting ready to land. Hopefully I’ll be able to post this while I’m in Chicago waiting for my connecting flight to take me home.
